How does DTM scoring work?

Each DTM race pays its top fifteen finishers on a sliding 25-20-16 scale, and the three fastest in qualifying earn a separate 3-2-1 bonus.

DTM scoring rewards both race results and one-lap pace, and because every weekend has two races, points come thick and fast.

Each race pays its top fifteen finishers on this scale:

25 – 20 – 16 – 13 – 11 – 10 – 9 – 8 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1

So a win is worth 25 points, second 20, third 16, and everything down to fifteenth still scores. On top of the race points, qualifying pays a bonus to the three fastest cars: 3 points for pole, 2 for second and 1 for third.

With sixteen races across eight weekends, plus the qualifying bonuses, a consistent front-runner can build a commanding total — and a single bad result rarely settles the title. The driver with the most points at season's end is crowned champion.
