The 2026 season brings Formula 2 a notably new-world flavour. It runs 14 rounds alongside Formula 1, opening in Melbourne in March and closing in Abu Dhabi in December.
The headline is F2's first trip to North America: Miami and Montreal join as the championship's first North American rounds. Madrid's brand-new "Madring" circuit also enters the calendar for the first time, giving Spain a second date after Barcelona.
The season is a milestone in its own right — the tenth run under the FIA Formula 2 name since the series launched in 2017. As ever, the grid is a spec field of identical cars, so the results are all about the drivers.
That matters because F2 is the championship that graduates its stars straight to Formula 1 — the order here is a preview of who is next in line for a Grand Prix seat.
