What is the history of Ducati in MotoGP?

Ducati entered MotoGP in 2003 and now dominates the class, with five riders' titles and seven constructors' championships.

Founded: 2003
Major titles: 5 riders' + 7 constructors' championships (MotoGP)

Ducati, the Italian manufacturer from Borgo Panigale in Bologna, entered MotoGP's premier class in 2003 with the Desmosedici and was competitive almost immediately.

Casey Stoner delivered Ducati's first riders' World Championship in 2007, the same year it took the constructors' title. A lean period followed until a technical resurgence under Gigi Dall'Igna transformed the team into the dominant force in the class.

Francesco Bagnaia won back-to-back riders' titles in 2022 and 2023, Jorge Martin took the 2024 crown with the satellite Pramac team, and Marc Marquez won the 2025 championship with the factory squad. Ducati also strung together six consecutive constructors' titles from 2020 to 2025, and completed the riders', teams' and constructors' 'Triple Crown' in both 2022 and 2025.

By the end of 2025 Ducati held five MotoGP riders' titles and seven constructors' championships. Supplying much of the grid with its machinery, it stands as the benchmark manufacturer of the modern MotoGP era.
