What is the history of Red Bull Racing in Formula 1?

Formed in 2005, Red Bull Racing has won six Constructors' and eight Drivers' titles across the Vettel and Verstappen eras.

Founded: 2005
Major titles: 6 Constructors' + 8 Drivers' championships (F1)

Red Bull Racing entered Formula 1 in 2005 after the energy-drink company bought the struggling Jaguar team. Within five years it had become a dominant force.

With cars designed under Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel at the wheel, Red Bull won four consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' Championship doubles from 2010 to 2013, making Vettel a four-time champion.

A second dominant era arrived after the 2022 rules reset. Max Verstappen won four straight Drivers' titles from 2021 to 2024, and the team took back-to-back Constructors' Championships in 2022 and 2023. Verstappen's first title, in 2021, came in a controversial season-finale battle with Lewis Hamilton.

In total the team has won six Constructors' and eight Drivers' Championships. After finishing third in the Constructors' standings in both 2024 and 2025, Red Bull - based in Milton Keynes, England - remains a front-running team. It also established the sister squad now known as Racing Bulls, which serves as a proving ground for young drivers.
