What's new in Formula 3 for 2026?

The 2026 Formula 3 season runs nine rounds from March to September, drops Imola and adds Madrid's new Madring circuit, which also hosts the finale.

The 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship runs nine rounds from March to September, most of them held on Formula 1 race weekends as a support category.

The headline calendar change is in Spain: Formula 3 follows Formula 1 in dropping the Imola round and adding Madrid's newly built "Madring" circuit, which also stages the season finale in September. The campaign opens in March at Albert Park in Melbourne, alongside the Australian Grand Prix.

As ever, teams field three cars each, so the grids are large and the racing is close. With so many talented drivers on a fixed, spec car, standing out is hard — and the reward for doing so is the prize every F3 driver is chasing: promotion to Formula 2 and a step closer to Formula 1.
