How does Formula E scoring work?

Formula E scores the top ten 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1, plus 3 points for pole and 1 for fastest lap (if inside the top ten).

Formula E awards championship points to the top ten finishers in every E-Prix, on a sliding scale:

25 – 18 – 15 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 1

The winner takes 25 points, second place 18, third 15, and so on down to a single point for tenth. Finish eleventh or lower and you leave with nothing.

Two bonus points are available beyond the finishing order:

  • 3 points for taking pole position — a real prize, given how hard pole is to win through the knockout Duels qualifying format.
  • 1 point for the fastest lap of the race — but only if that driver also finishes inside the top ten, so a quick lap from the back of the field earns nothing.

Points are awarded the same way at every round and accumulate across the season to decide the Formula E World Championship.
