How does WorldSBK scoring work?

In WorldSBK, each full-length race (Race 1 and Race 2) pays points to the top 15 finishers, while the shorter Sunday Superpole Race pays the top 9.

WorldSBK awards championship points differently depending on the race, because a weekend mixes two full-length races with a shorter sprint.

Both full-length races — Race 1 on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday — pay the top 15 finishers on the same scale:

25-20-16-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

The Sunday-morning Superpole Race, a 10-lap sprint, pays fewer points to fewer riders — the top 9 only:

12-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

Because a rider can score in all three races, a perfect weekend across Race 1, the Superpole Race and Race 2 is worth up to 62 points — the most available at a single round. Those totals add up across every round of the season to decide the riders' world championship, which is why consistency over a full weekend, not just one strong result, is what wins titles in WorldSBK.
